We were introduced to Phil as a referral from a coworker. He had concerns regarding his retirement and stock options which had not been reviewed since he was hired.
Upon sitting down we reviewed his statements and noticed he had a large concentration of his employer’s single stock; including, RSU (restricted stock units), ESPP ( Employee Stock Purchase Plan), and various stock options. Many of his options were set to expire.
We implemented a timely strategy to sell his options over the next two years in a tax efficient manner. Our team continues to work with Phil and his family with his ongoing vesting company stock .
As part of his overall strategy, Phil’s been able to fund his children’s education accounts and put himself on pace for his retirement goals.
